The mission of the Village Treasurer's Office is to provide efficient, courteous service while upholding the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities required of the office.
The Treasurer acts as the Village's banker by receiving and disbursing funds, and providing for daily cash requirements. The Treasurer also works to invest public funds, and to maintain an accurate accounting and reporting system. The Treasurer is also assigned these duties as listed:
- Maintaining all financial records for the Village
- Billing and collections
- Accounts payable
- Investment and cash management
- Property tax collection for the Village and other governments
- Coordinating the annual operating and capital budget process for all Village operations
- Preparing for annual audits of the Village's books
The main responsibilities of the Deputy Clerk include:
- Administers elections for the Village of Cambridge
- Maintains the Statewide Voter Registration System Database for the Village of Cambridge
- Issues a variety of municipal licenses including liquor licenses, bartender, dog and cat, etc. and issues a variety of municipal permits such as street use and transient merchant
- Prepares and distributes agendas and support materials, including minutes for the Village Board, standing committees and Plan Commission meetings
- Keeps record of proceedings at Board of Review Hearings
- Publish and post ordinances, resolutions and public hearing notices
- Processes Village Payroll on a bi-weekly basis
- Manages reservations/calendar for Amundson Center and Village Parks
- Orders supplies for Village Offices
- Administers Oath of Office for a variety of appointments
- Performs all other duties required by State Statutes & Law, County & Village ordinances or lawful direction of the Village Board, & comply with policies of the Village of Cambridge
