The Village of Cambridge works with McFarland Senior Outreach and offers many services for people age 60 and over:
General Transportation
Rides to medical appointments are provided by volunteer drivers. Contact Tom Bush at (608) 764-5935 between 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. to arrange a ride. Please call 2-3 business days prior to the appointment.
Nutrition Program
Cambridge offers a meal site for older adults at the Amundson Center, 200 Spring Street. The meal site is offered year-round on Tuesdays and Fridays. For meal reservations, contact the McFarland Senior Outreach Department, (608) 838-7117, one business day prior to the desired meal. Home-delivered meals are delivered by church volunteers.
The actual cost of $10.23 for meals eaten at the meal-site. However, meal participants are encouraged to give what they can afford, by making a $4.00 suggested donation for those over age 60. Contributions by participants are extremely important to offset the actual cost of the meals.
Cambridge Monthly Menus
Foot Care
A Foot Care Clinic is offered for Cambridge Area older adults on the first Thursday of the month at the Amundson Building. Call (608) 838-7117 for an appointment.
Services provided by Stoughton Home Health. Cost is $20.
Dane County Seniors, age sixty and over, who can shop independently, have the opportunity to shop in Cambridge. Whether it is a trip to the grocery store, a hair salon, the bank, an attorney, or any business within Cambridge, the bus will be available.
For a cost of $2 round-trip, seniors will be picked up at their homes, taken to the selected destination, and returned home. The bus operates the third Monday of each month between the hours of 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., with the pick-up time determined by the senior.
Reservations for the bus should be made by the Thursday before the desired shopping trip. Call 608 838-7117, the office of McFarland Senior Outreach, for reservations. Since this arrangement is provided by Dane County, only Dane County residents living in Cambridge or within one mile of it are eligible for this service.
Library Services
The Cambridge Library has a new program called "Books At Home." The Friends of the Library are offering a new home delivery service which will allow the library to share the resources of their community library with folks who are homebound in the Cambridge area. This new service will offer a selection of books and magazines delivered by a volunteer to your home once a month.

Sewing Group
The Cambridge RSVP Sewing Group meets the second Monday afternoon of the month at the Amundson Building. Call (608) 423-3712 for information.
Shopping in Madison and Cambridge
Shop Madison: Transportation is available for Cambridge older adults to shop in Madison on the first Monday of the month, between 10:00am–2:00pm. Contact the Village of Cambridge at 608-423-3712 to reserve a seat on the bus. Round-trip cost is $3.
In Cambridge: Shop in the Village of Cambridge at your destination of choice on the third Monday of the month, between 10:00 A.M. –12:30 P.M.,. Call 838-7117. Cost is $2.
